Are you feeling that “Oh my gosh…what have I gotten myself into?” feeling? Are your essential oils making you feel like a crazy person because you, yes you, are too scared to use them? Yep, been there and I have great news! You don’t have to wonder, “How do I use these essential oils?” anymore and guess what…using them is so easy!
How do I use these essential oils?
There are three main ways to use essential oils: topically, aromatically (inhalation), and internally. Let’s chat a minute.
Topical use basically means using the essential oils on your skin in some way or another. That’s it. Easy right? Sure is. Now, there are different ways to use your essential oils topically and I highly recommend using them with what is called a carrier oil. This is simply another oil that you can add your essential oils to in order to dilute them. Do you need to dilute essential oils? Well, here is some great information on dilution. What oils do you want to use as a carrier oil? My favorite is fractionated coconut oil, but there are many to choose from. Such as: grapeseed, sweet almond oil, and jojoba, to name a few. How much should you dilute? Well, that another topic and you can read all about it here.
Using an essential oil aromatically (otherwise known as inhalation) is simply that. Inhaling the essential oil. You can do this by taking the top of the oil and smelling it, diffusing the essential oil in a diffuser, or putting a drop in the palm of your hands, rubbing them together, and cupping your hands over your nose as you breathe in and out.
Now, I am going to just get this out of the way…there are many schools of thought on the internal use of essential oils. I am going to tell you that I believe that this is a very beneficial way to use essential oils. If you are uncomfortable or not ready to take this on, then don’t. Simply use them topically or aromatically. However, I have witnessed and I have received many benefits from internal use. Now, I am going to have you look at this here, to understand my thoughts on this topic.
I hope this gives you the confidence to take those essential oils off the shelf and allow yourself to enjoy their many benefits. Want more information on using essential oils?
