Welcome! I am so glad to have you here and wanted to introduce myself.
So, let me start by saying hi! My name is Heather and here is just a little bit about me. I am a wife to my high school sweetheart, Bruce, a mother of three little monsters (sometimes I wonder if they are really even human), a Registered Dental Hygienist, an educator, an entrepreneur, and an advocate of options for wellness.
I had the opportunity to fulfill my dreams of becoming a dental hygienist where I really enjoyed helping patients achieve oral health. While on this path, I was able to study how the body’s systems all work intricately together and affect each other. I absolutely loved watching as patients became confident in their smiles and dental health, but as much fun as I had working in other people’s mouths, I was called to a different path.
I was blessed to become a mother, and after the birth of my second baby I chose to leave my active dental hygiene career and become a full-time homemaker, continuing education connoisseur, and the mom who hides in the bathroom, sneaks snacks as quietly as possible (from my secret hideaway), and tries to survive the day!
Bruce and I then decided it was time to leave our home in Sin City and moved our family to Utah for a stint, where all of my carefully laid plans fell apart and I was taught to see bounty even when things feel dark. We then moved on to a very small town in Idaho where we can focus on life’s bounty: being near family, trying to be a good mommy to my monsters, nurturing our priceless marriage, and enjoying being involved in my community and church.
In 2012, I was introduced to doTERRA, but it was a full year before I started using the “snake” oils due to my medical background and intense feelings of being overwhelmed. I did not know where or how to start, and frankly, was not even sure that they truly could help.
It was a need born out of desperation and Divine guidance that made me start. I watched as my husband’s health deteriorated, was prescribed medications like candy, and had interactions that made the possibility of slipping into a coma, suddenly, very real. After realizing the amazing impact that essential oils have on myself and my family’s wellness, I am now blessed to empower others to know that they have options for their health and that the essential oils can work hand in hand with modern medicine to support a healthy lifestyle.
During that time, I allowed myself to develop some beliefs about myself that simply weren’t true. I experienced the whole spectrum of emotions. Anger and despair were my constant companions and as we struggled I slowly lost myself. I lost my Truth. It would be a year after Bruce’s recovery when I would realize that I couldn’t truly serve others until I helped myself. I learned amazing mindset tools and went through some great essential oil emotional wellness classes, but what I found was that combining the two gave me results that surpassed what I ever thought possible. What I found were some keys that God was giving me to open doors not only for myself, but for women who felt as I had. If you find that this struggle is one that you are living with, if you read this and think, “Me too! I feel that way!”, or if you know there is some belief that is holding you back from all that you want to accomplish, come hang out in my free community, House of Bounty, where we chat about the bounty of mindset transformation and essential oils daily.
I dream of buying an old farm house, yes, farm included, and decorating it with mason jars and all things vintage, as I am back where it all started: rooted in the country. You can usually find me in The Library, with a book in hand, knee-deep in purple glittery nail polish, potty training, and toddler drool!
I am living my life of bounty and I am so excited to share life’s bounty with you! Whether we meet in the garden where bounty grows, or gather around my table in the kitchen where we find the bounty of family, in the playroom where mayhem and bounty reign, or on the porch with a cold glass of lemon water in hand for a chat about the bounty of friendship, know that we meet in the House of Bounty where love, laughter, and essential oils are the keys to unlock the doors.
